Official Appointment Announced
On April 22, 2025, Thailand’s pageant community celebrated a major milestone as Opal Suchata Chuangsri was officially appointed as Miss World Thailand 2025. The announcement took place at the “Road to Miss World 72nd” press event, held at Studio 8, Channel 7HD.
Brian L. Marcar, Managing Director of TERO Entertainment, crowned Opal, while Piyaporn Sankosik, Executive of TPN Global, placed the official sash on her shoulders.
Who is Opal Suchata?
Opal, 21, hails from Phuket and is currently a student of Political Science (International Relations) at Thammasat University. She is multilingual, fluent in Thai, English, and Chinese.
Previously, she was crowned Miss Universe Thailand 2024 and went on to win 3rd Runner-up at Miss Universe 2024, held in Mexico — a remarkable achievement that gained her widespread recognition.
Controversy Following Dual Pageant Participation
Following her appointment as Miss World Thailand 2025, Opal was stripped of her Miss Universe 3rd Runner-up title due to a contractual violation. The Miss Universe Organization prohibits its reigning titleholders from joining other international pageants during their reign.
Despite the controversy, Opal respected the decision and reaffirmed her commitment to representing Thailand with pride and dedication on the Miss World stage.
Beauty With A Purpose: Her Advocacy
Opal emphasized the importance of “Beauty With A Purpose”, the signature social impact initiative of the Miss World Organization. Her campaign will focus on breast cancer awareness, a cause close to her heart due to personal experience.
She aims to raise awareness, promote early screening, and support underserved women in Thailand through education and outreach.
The Miss World 2025 Pageant in India
The 72nd Miss World competition will be held in Hyderabad, Telangana, India, from May 7 to May 31, 2025. The grand final will take place on May 31.
Contestants will undergo a series of evaluations, including charitable projects, talent performances, public speaking, fashion and runway presentations, and cultural showcases.
